GAMMA MU LAMBDA’S BROTHERS ON THE MOVE
Bro. Dr. Gregory J. Harris, Jr. was recently featured in Florida State University’s Torch Magazine for the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences.
Bro. Harris, who currently serves as the District Director for the Florida Federation of Alpha Chapters, was recently named as the new Associate Dean for Partnerships and Community Engagement. The article traces his time and his various roles as an educator at FSU as well as at Florida A&M University.
Bro. Harris is a Fall ’91 Initiate of the Gamma Mu Lambda Chapter.
Bro. Cyrus Calhoun, III, a Spring ’23 initiate of the Gamma Mu Lambda Chapter was recently named Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Thomas Howell Ferguson, a C.P.A. firm here in Tallahassee, FL.
Bro. Dr. William A. Hill was recently elected by his peers to the Board of Directors of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine (ACLAM) to serve a three-year term commencing October 24, 2023.
The American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine advances the humane care and responsible use of laboratory animals through certification of veterinarian specialists, professional development, education and research.
Bro. Dr. Hill, a Fall ’99 initiate of the Phi Lambda Chapter, is the Director of Laboratory Animal Resources at Florida State University. Election to a leadership role within ACLAM is indicative of his contributions to the organization in the past and recognition by peers of his abilities for the future success of ACLAM.
Bro. Hill currently serves as the Recording Secretary for the Gamma Mu Lambda Chapter. He earned a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 from North Carolina State University, is a board-certified specialist in laboratory animal medicine, and holds degrees in Laboratory Animal Science from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (BS ‘99) and Public Health from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (MPH ‘10).
Hon. Bro. Andrew L. Dixon, III has been named the Hearing Office Chief Administrative Law Judge (HOCALJ) for the Social Security Administration’s Tallahassee Hearing Office. In this role he will manage an office staff of over 30 judges, attorneys, managers and support staff. Judge Dixon has served in Tallahassee as an Administrative Law Judge for the past 13 years and has twice served as Acting HOCALJ.
Prior to his appointment as an ALJ, Bro. Dixon, a Spring ’06 initiate of the Zeta Alpha Lambda Chapter in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, served as an Assistant State Attorney in Broward County, FL as well as an Attorney-Advisor for the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals in Miami, FL
Judge Dixon holds a degree in Political Science from the George Washington University as well as a Juris Doctorate from St. Thomas University’s Ben Crump School of Law in Miami Gardens, Florida. He currently serves as the President of the Gamma Mu Lambda Chapter.
